If you could sail a boat that was as fast and fun as a J-24, but kept the crew dryer in the afternoon chop, would you?
If you could sail a small boat that was light enough to move smartly even in light winter winds, but easily stands up to a summer afternoon in the slot, would you?
If you could sail a small boat that had a deep cockpit that gave you something to lean you back against and relax, would you?
If you could sail a small boat with a cockpit that easily seats four without everybody getting in each other’s way on every tack, would you?
If you could sail a small boat that had an interior big enough to spend the weekend on, would you?
So how come you are not sailing on an Olson 25?
Here at OCSC we have four Olson 25s in our fleet. Comfortable, smooth sailing, and fast they are great boats for introducing your non-sailing friends to San Francisco Bay. The bigger cockpit means they won’t feel like they are in the way, and they’ll be dryer and have fun.
The sail plan is familiar and simple to handle. They are easily handled and maneuverable under both power and sail.
Not many sailboats as small as this have interiors that are comfortable for spending the night, but the for adventurous sorts, but the Olson 25 does. Our Olsons have been gone for a week at a time exploring the bay.
No special training is needed, just a quick dockside checkout to point out the small differences from other boats you might have sailed.
