OCSC is Running a Food Drive!

OCSC is running a food drive to help support the Alameda County Community Food Bank.  This is an excellent chance to make a difference in the lives of others as well as making a significant impact on the community.

Here are some facts about Hunger in Alameda County:

  • Almost 160,000 people in Alameda County live below the official California poverty level.
  • Over 54,000 of the people in poverty in Alameda County are children.
  • Berkeley alone holds a 20% poverty level.  This is 50% higher than the state average, making it a critical area for .

OCSC is looking for:

  • Canned Foods
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pasta
  • Beans
  • Rice
  • Low-Sugar Cereal and Oatmeal
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Powdered Milk

You can find the OCSC food bin upstairs in the main classroom.  Simply drop off the food upstairs or hand it to any one of our office staff.
