Local Sailing Flotillas Offer Close-To-Home Weekend Adventures

The Mahe 36 sailing in to Benicia
Who says you need to travel to a far off foreign land to experience adventure? OCSC’s Local Flotillas to Benicia and Petaluma were a hit this year. The Local Flotillas are a great weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and are a great way to practice sailing to and arriving into unfamiliar marinas, which is a very transferable skill to more exotic sailing adventures.
The Mahe Catamaran (skippered by our own John Dillow) and a Catalina 36 (skippered by Bob Sharf) cruised to Benicia in June. Four boats cruised to Petaluma at the end of July; the Beneteau (again, Bob Sharf), two Catalina 36s (skippers Larry Scharg) and 4 adventurous OCSC members on an Olson 25 (skippered by Sylvie Hubert).
