Welcome back to all the sailors on OCSC’s British Virgin Islands Flotilla! Judging by your pictures, it seems like you all had a great time.  So far, we’ve heard stories of good weather, good friends, good food, and great sailing. The pictures tell the story…

Some words from Captain Ray Wichmann, OCSC Senior Instructor and BVI Flotilla Leader…

When the trade winds are blowing warm and steady; when the sky is a deep blue, when the visibility is unlimited; when the air temperature is 82, and the ocean temperature is 85 — things are about right.  And that pretty much describes OCSC’s latest flotilla: Nine days of sailing, swimming, eating, snorkeling, music and dancing, hiking, diving, and reading in the British Virgin Islands.  We had a few hours of 30 knots and a day with a big north swell; the rest was perfect!     We visited Norman and Peter Isla nds, the Indians and the Dogs, Virgin Gorda, Cane Garden Bay, and Jost Van Dyke.  In addition, OCSC was able to donate almost $3000 to the BVI National Parks Trust.  So perhaps it was more than perfect.

We got a bunch of great photos from Rick Wong and Michael Zeglin.

A comment from a flotilla traveler…

I had a great sailing vacation! It was the smoothest of any flotilla that I have been on and this was my fifth. Capt Ray kept everything on a very relaxed, flexible schedule. It was terrific balance of sailing, motoring, snorkeling and scuba, eating, drinking, hiking, learning, sleeping, shopping and exploring the culture and music and people. The weather was overall pretty good. There was a day of 30+ knots – a piece of cake for OCSC graduates.

You create a pile of dirt and then drive over it. We may have to learn to drive all over again.
